Responsibilities
- Prepare patients for examination by assisting with exam gowns and drapes, and maintaining patient privacy.
- Take and record vital signs, such as blood pressure, temperature, pulse, and respiration.
- Assist physicians during examinations and procedures, ensuring patient comfort and safety.
- Perform basic laboratory tests and prepare specimens for analysis.
- Administer medications and injections as directed by the physician.
- Maintain patient records and ensure electronic health records (EHR) are updated accurately.
- Coordinate patient schedules and manage appointment reminders effectively.
Qualifications
- Certification as a Medical Assistant (CMA, RMA, or NCMA) is preferred.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to interact professionally with patients and staff.
- Detail-oriented approach to charting and patient care documentation.
- Experience in a clinical setting is a plus.
- Reliable transportation for locations in Chicago, IL and NC.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 25 lbs.
