Responsibilities
- Prepare examination rooms and sterilize medical instruments to ensure a clean and safe environment for patients.
- Assist physicians and nurse practitioners with patient examinations, taking accurate vital signs and medical histories.
- Perform basic laboratory tests, including phlebotomy (blood draws) and EKGs, following strict safety and quality protocols.
- Manage patient intake processes, updating Electronic Health Records (EHR) with precision and maintaining strict patient confidentiality (HIPAA compliance).
- Administer medications and injections as directed by providers, ensuring proper documentation.
- Coordinate patient appointments, handle incoming calls, and provide exceptional customer service to patients and families.
- Assist with minor office procedures and provide post-procedure care instructions.
Qualifications
- Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) certification required.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association.
- 1-2 years of clinical experience in a medical office or outpatient setting preferred.
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology.
- Proficiency in Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems (e.g., Epic, Cerner, Athenahealth).
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with a compassionate and patient-centered approach.
- Ability to multitask effectively in a fast-paced clinical environment.
