Responsibilities
- Perform accurate patient vitals and obtain comprehensive medical histories.
- Assist physicians and nurse practitioners during examinations and minor procedures.
- Manage patient intake, appointment scheduling, and insurance verification.
- Maintain and sterilize examination rooms and medical equipment.
- Administer injections, medications, and vaccines under physician supervision.
- Ensure strict compliance with HIPAA regulations and patient confidentiality.
- Handle basic administrative tasks, including billing support and chart documentation.
Qualifications
- Certification as a Medical Assistant (CMA/RMA) or equivalent degree.
- Current New York State Medical Assistant license.
- Previous experience in a clinical setting (1+ years preferred).
- Strong interpersonal and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency with Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems.
- BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required.
- Ability to multitask and thrive in a fast-paced environment.
