Responsibilities
- Patient Intake & Vitals: Accurately measure and record patient vital signs, update medical histories, and prepare patients for examinations.
- Assist Providers: Support physicians and nurse practitioners during examinations, including preparing instruments and assisting with procedures.
- Administrative Support: Manage appointment scheduling, verify patient insurance coverage, and process incoming referrals.
- Laboratory Tasks: Perform basic laboratory tests, such as urine analysis and blood draws, following strict safety protocols.
- Pharmacy Coordination: Process prescription refill requests and communicate effectively with pharmacies to ensure timely medication delivery.
- Patient Education: Educate patients on treatment plans, medications, and preventative care measures to improve health outcomes.
- Inventory Management: Monitor and maintain medical supplies and equipment to ensure the clinic is fully stocked and operational.
Qualifications
- Certification: Current Certification as a Medical Assistant (CMA, RMA, or NCMA) required.
- Experience: Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in a clinical setting preferred.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a patient-centric approach.
- Technical Proficiency: Proficiency in Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems and medical software.
- San Francisco Knowledge: Ability to navigate the local San Francisco healthcare landscape and commute to our Market Street location.
- Licensure: Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association.
