Responsibilities

  • Prepare patients for examination by reviewing medical history and explaining procedures to ensure patient comfort.
  • Take and record vital signs (temperature, blood pressure, pulse) accurately and maintain updated patient charts.
  • Assist physicians during examinations by preparing instruments, ensuring a sterile environment, and providing necessary support.
  • Perform basic laboratory tests, such as urine analysis, and collect and prepare blood samples for testing.
  • Manage front desk reception duties, including scheduling appointments, verifying insurance, and answering patient inquiries professionally.
  • Maintain a clean, sanitized environment in all clinical areas in strict accordance with health and safety protocols.
  • Assist in immunizations and administer medications as directed by a licensed provider.

Qualifications

  • Certification as a Medical Assistant (CMA, RMA, or NCMA) is highly preferred.
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association is required.
  • High school diploma or GED required; completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program is a plus.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain complex medical concepts to patients clearly.
  • Proficiency in electronic health records (EHR) systems is preferred.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 25 lbs when assisting patients.
