Responsibilities
- Accurately process and submit medical claims to insurance companies using Epic software
- Verify patient eligibility and benefits prior to service rendering
- Resolve claim denials and appeals with insurance payers
- Conduct regular audits of billing records for compliance
- Communicate effectively with patients regarding billing inquiries
- Stay updated on ICD-10/CPT coding regulations and payer policies
- Maintain strict HIPAA compliance in all billing operations
Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of medical billing experience in a clinical setting
- Proficiency with medical billing software (Epic, Medisoft, or similar)
- Certified Professional Biller (CPB) or CPC certification preferred
- Strong knowledge of ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS coding
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
