Responsibilities
- Dispense Medications: Accurately prepare and label prescription medications under the supervision of a Pharmacist.
- Customer Service: Greet patients warmly, answer inquiries regarding prescriptions, and provide education on medication usage.
- Inventory Management: Monitor stock levels, receive deliveries, and organize the pharmacy inventory efficiently.
- Administrative Tasks: Process insurance claims, manage cash transactions, and maintain accurate patient records.
- Quality Assurance: Verify the accuracy of all prescriptions and adhere to state and federal regulations.
Qualifications
- Certification: Current Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) or National Healthcareer Association (NHA) certification required.
- Education: High School Diploma or GED equivalent; completion of an accredited Pharmacy Technician program preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of 1 year of experience in a retail or hospital pharmacy setting.
- Attention to Detail: Exceptional ability to focus on details to ensure patient safety and compliance.
- Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with patients and staff.
