Responsibilities
- Perform accurate venipuncture and capillary blood draws across diverse patient demographics
- Process and label specimens with meticulous attention to detail and HIPAA compliance
- Maintain sterile techniques and equipment calibration per OSHA guidelines
- Provide exceptional patient communication during high-stress procedures
- Utilize LIS systems for specimen tracking and documentation
- Collaborate with lab technologists for sample prioritization
- Contribute to continuous quality improvement initiatives
Qualifications
- Current Minnesota Phlebotomy Technician certification (ASCP or AMT)
- Minimum 1 year clinical experience in phlebotomy
- Proficiency with evacuated tube systems and microcollection techniques
- Strong understanding of infection control protocols
- Excellent interpersonal skills for patient interaction
- Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks
- Basic computer literacy with EMR systems
- Valid CPR certification
