Responsibilities
- Perform venipuncture and capillary punctures for diverse patient demographics
- Process and label specimens according to CLIA and OSHA standards
- Maintain accurate electronic health records and specimen tracking
- Operate centrifuges and automated analyzers with precision
- Provide patient education on pre-test preparation procedures
- Collaborate with nursing staff on specimen collection protocols
- Ensure strict adherence to infection control and safety protocols
Qualifications
- Current California Phlebotomy Technician certification (CPT or equivalent)
- Minimum 1 year clinical phlebotomy experience
- BLS/CPR certification from recognized provider
- Proficiency in HIPAA compliance and patient confidentiality
- Excellent venipuncture skills for difficult access patients
- Ability to work efficiently in fast-paced outpatient setting
- Strong communication skills in English and Spanish preferred
- Basic computer literacy for EHR documentation
