Responsibilities
- Perform venipuncture and capillary blood draws across diverse patient populations
- Ensure proper specimen handling, labeling, and transport to lab facilities
- Maintain sterile techniques and infection control protocols per OSHA guidelines
- Verify patient identification and prepare specimens for processing
- Document procedures accurately in electronic health records
- Collaborate with medical staff to optimize patient experience
- Calibrate and troubleshoot phlebotomy equipment
Qualifications
- Current Arizona Phlebotomy Technician certification required
- Minimum 1 year clinical experience in blood collection
- CPR certification (or willingness to obtain within 30 days)
- Excellent venipuncture skills with minimal patient discomfort
- Strong attention to detail and documentation accuracy
- Ability to work independently in fast-paced environments
- Compassionate communication with diverse patient demographics
- Proficiency with EMR systems (Epic experience preferred)
