Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive patient assessments, including physical, psychological, and social aspects, to develop individualized care plans.
- Administer medications safely and accurately, monitor patient responses, and document all interventions thoroughly.
- Collaborate with physicians, specialists, and other healthcare professionals to ensure coordinated and holistic patient care.
- Educate patients and their families on health conditions, treatment plans, and self-care techniques to promote recovery and well-being.
- Maintain accurate and timely electronic health records (EHRs) in compliance with hospital policies and regulatory standards.
- Respond to medical emergencies and deteriorating patient conditions with prompt and effective interventions.
- Ensure patient safety, privacy, and comfort at all times, adhering to ethical principles and professional nursing standards.
- Participate in unit meetings, quality improvement initiatives, and continuous professional development activities.
Qualifications
- Current and unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of Tennessee.
- Minimum of 1-2 years of clinical experience as a Registered Nurse in an acute care setting.
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred; Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) with relevant experience considered.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification; Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) may be required for specific units.
- Demonstrated ability to perform comprehensive patient assessments, administer medications, and manage patient care.
- Proficiency in electronic health record (EHR) systems; Meditech experience is a plus.
- Exceptional communication, interpersonal, and critical thinking skills.
- Ability to work flexibly, including evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays as needed for part-time scheduling.
