As a key member of our perioperative team, you'll ensure optimal patient outcomes through sterile technique mastery and seamless surgical support. Our 12-hour shifts provide work-life balance while maintaining full-time benefits eligibility.
Responsibilities
- Prepare operating rooms with sterile instruments, equipment, and supplies
- Assist surgeons during procedures by passing instruments and maintaining sterile fields
- Handle surgical specimens for laboratory analysis
- Perform equipment sterilization and maintenance per OSHA guidelines
- Document procedural activities accurately in electronic health records
- Collaborate with RNs and anesthesia teams for coordinated patient care
- Maintain inventory of surgical supplies and troubleshoot equipment issues
Qualifications
- Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) credential required
- 1+ years of recent surgical tech experience preferred
- Current BLS certification from American Heart Association
- Knowledge of sterile processing standards (AAMI/ANSI)
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift 50+ lbs
- Strong attention to detail and critical thinking skills
- Experience with electronic health records (EHR) systems
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and on-call rotations
