Responsibilities
- Prepare operating rooms and sterile fields according to AORN standards
- Pass instruments and supplies to surgeons during procedures
- Maintain sterile technique and troubleshoot equipment malfunctions
- Assist with patient positioning and draping
- Count sponges, needles, and instruments before/after procedures
- Scrub, circulate, and sterilize equipment per protocol
- Document activities in electronic health records
Qualifications
- Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) required
- Minimum 1 year OR experience preferred
- BLS certification from AHA
- Ability to stand for extended periods
- Strong attention to detail and communication skills
- Knowledge of sterile processing principles
- Ability to work flexible shifts (days, evenings, weekends)
- Background check and drug screen required
