Responsibilities
- Assess patient symptoms via phone and in-person triage using standardized protocols
- Collaborate with physicians to prioritize urgent cases and coordinate care pathways
- Maintain accurate electronic health records (EHR) documentation
- Provide compassionate patient education on treatment plans and preventive care
- Oversee patient flow in urgent care settings and manage wait times
- Assist in emergency response coordination for critical situations
- Participate in continuous quality improvement initiatives
Qualifications
- Active RN license in Hawaii (or compact state eligibility)
- Minimum 2 years triage or emergency department experience
- BLS certification required; ACLS preferred
- Proficiency in EHR systems (e.g., Epic, Cerner)
- Exceptional critical thinking and communication skills
- Ability to work independently in fast-paced environments
- Knowledge of Hawaii-specific healthcare protocols
- Flexibility to cover variable shifts including weekends
