Responsibilities
- Assess patient symptoms via phone, telehealth, and in-person consultations to determine urgency and appropriate care pathways
- Provide clinical guidance and education to patients regarding symptoms, home care instructions, and when to seek emergency care
- Collaborate with physicians, specialists, and care coordinators to develop comprehensive treatment plans
- Maintain accurate electronic health records (EHR) documentation in compliance with HIPAA and regulatory standards
- Monitor patient flow and department resource utilization to optimize operational efficiency
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and emergency preparedness drills
- Support interdisciplinary team through effective communication and handoff protocols
Qualifications
- Active RN license in Wisconsin with minimum 2 years clinical experience
- BLS and ACLS certifications required; TNCC or ENPC preferred
- Demonstrated proficiency in triage protocols and emergency department workflows
- Exceptional critical thinking and decision-making abilities under pressure
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with diverse populations
- Experience with Epic EHR or similar electronic documentation systems
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within a team
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays on rotating schedule
