Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough telephone assessments to determine patient urgency and appropriate care pathways
- Provide evidence-based medical advice per established protocols and physician guidelines
- Maintain accurate electronic health records (EHR) documentation of all interactions
- Collaborate with physicians, specialists, and care coordinators for seamless patient handoffs
- Educate patients on home care management, medication instructions, and preventive measures
- Adhere to HIPAA compliance and maintain strict patient confidentiality standards
- Participate in continuous quality improvement initiatives
Qualifications
- Current New York State RN license (required)
- Minimum 3 years clinical nursing experience with ER/urgent care background
- ACLS/BLS certification (must maintain current status)
- Exceptional critical thinking and decision-making abilities
- Proficiency in Epic EHR systems or similar platforms
- Strong communication skills with diverse patient populations
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment
- Triage certification preferred (e.g., ENPC, TNCC)
