Responsibilities
- Perform rapid patient assessments and prioritize cases based on acuity levels
- Utilize Epic EMR system to document patient encounters and maintain accurate records
- Provide telephone triage for after-hours urgent care consultations
- Collaborate with physicians and specialists to coordinate patient care plans
- Educate patients on home care instructions and follow-up protocols
- Monitor patient flow and adjust staffing levels during peak hours
Qualifications
- Active California RN license (CA RN # required)
- Minimum 3 years emergency department experience
- BLS, ACLS, and TNCC certifications required
- Proficient in telephone triage protocols (Triage Logic preferred)
- Strong knowledge of EMTALA compliance standards
- Exceptional communication and de-escalation skills
- Ability to work 12-16 hour shifts with 24-hour availability
