Responsibilities
- Assess patient symptoms via phone and telehealth to determine urgency and appropriate care level
- Document patient encounters accurately in EMR systems while maintaining HIPAA compliance
- Collaborate with physicians to coordinate patient care and prioritize critical cases
- Provide clear instructions to patients regarding home care or emergency protocols
- Monitor patient conditions and escalate complex cases to senior medical staff
- Maintain detailed triage logs for quality assurance and reporting purposes
- Participate in continuous training on new medical protocols and triage technologies
Qualifications
- Active RN license in the state of Texas (TX)
- Minimum 2 years of clinical nursing experience in emergency or urgent care settings
- BLS and ACLS certifications required (PALS preferred)
- Proficiency in electronic medical records (e.g., Epic, Cerner)
- Exceptional critical thinking and decision-making abilities
- Strong communication skills with demonstrated empathy and cultural sensitivity
- Ability to work efficiently in fast-paced environments with competing priorities
- Spanish bilingual proficiency strongly preferred for patient population
