Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive telephonic and in-person patient assessments using standardized triage protocols
- Collaborate with physicians and clinical teams to prioritize patient cases based on acuity levels
- Document detailed patient encounters in EHR systems with precision and regulatory compliance
- Provide clear, empathetic communication to patients regarding care plans and next steps
- Monitor and track patient flow metrics to optimize departmental efficiency
- Participate in continuous quality improvement initiatives for triage protocols
- Maintain strict adherence to HIPAA and healthcare privacy regulations
Qualifications
- Active RN license in Wisconsin (or compact state eligibility)
- Minimum 2 years clinical experience in emergency or urgent care setting
- Valid BLS certification with ACLS preferred
- Demonstrated proficiency in rapid patient assessment and critical decision-making
- Exceptional communication skills with ability to de-escalate anxious patients
- Experience with Epic or similar EHR documentation systems
- Ability to work independently while maintaining collaborative team dynamics
- Flexibility to cover evening/weekend shifts as needed
