Responsibilities
- Conduct Triage Assessments: Evaluate patient symptoms via phone and in-person interactions to determine the urgency of care and route patients to the appropriate medical department.
- Patient Communication: Provide clear, empathetic, and professional guidance to patients regarding their health concerns and next steps.
- Documentation: Accurately record patient history, symptoms, and triage decisions in the Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems.
- Collaboration: Communicate critical findings and patient needs effectively to physicians, nurse practitioners, and other healthcare team members.
- Policy Adherence: Ensure all triage protocols and safety standards are strictly followed to maintain high-quality patient care.
Qualifications
- Licensure: Current, unencumbered Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of Louisiana.
- Education: Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred; Diploma graduates considered with significant experience.
- Experience: Minimum of 2 years of clinical nursing experience, with specific experience in triage or urgent care settings.
- Skills: Strong clinical assessment skills, critical thinking, and decision-making abilities.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to de-escalate patient concerns effectively.
