Responsibilities
- Accurately prepare and dispense prescription medications under pharmacist supervision
- Manage inventory control, including ordering, stocking, and tracking controlled substances
- Process insurance claims and verify patient eligibility for medications
- Counsel patients on medication usage, potential side effects, and adherence protocols
- Maintain HIPAA-compliant electronic health records and pharmacy databases
- Collaborate with healthcare providers to optimize medication therapy outcomes
- Ensure compliance with FDA, DEA, and California Board of Pharmacy regulations
Qualifications
- Active California Pharmacy Technician license required
- 1+ years of retail or hospital pharmacy experience preferred
- Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) certification strongly preferred
- Proficiency in pharmacy software (e.g., QS/1, Omnicell) and Microsoft Office
- Exceptional attention to detail and mathematical accuracy skills
- Strong communication abilities with diverse patient populations
- Ability to work efficiently in fast-paced, high-volume environments
