Responsibilities
- Accurately prepare and dispense prescription medications under pharmacist supervision
- Manage pharmaceutical inventory, including ordering, receiving, and stock rotation
- Maintain precise patient records and medication profiles using advanced pharmacy systems
- Process insurance claims and manage third-party billing documentation
- Provide exceptional customer service to patients and healthcare professionals
- Ensure strict compliance with FDA, DEA, and DC Board of Pharmacy regulations
- Collaborate with clinical staff to optimize medication therapy management
Qualifications
- Active DC Pharmacy Technician license in good standing
- PTCB or ExCPT certification required
- Minimum 2 years retail/hospital pharmacy experience
- Proficiency in pharmacy management software (e.g., Omnicell, QS/1)
- Exceptional attention to detail and medication safety protocols
- Strong communication skills and ability to multitask in fast-paced settings
- Knowledge of HIPAA compliance and patient confidentiality standards
