Responsibilities
- Accurately prepare and dispense prescription medications under pharmacist supervision
- Manage pharmaceutical inventory, including ordering, receiving, and stock rotation
- Process insurance claims and maintain precise patient records using pharmacy software
- Provide exceptional customer service, including medication counseling and health screenings
- Ensure strict compliance with HIPAA, DEA, and NYS pharmacy regulations
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to optimize patient medication therapy
- Maintain clean, organized, and secure pharmacy workspaces
Qualifications
- Active NYS Pharmacy Technician license required
- Prior retail or hospital pharmacy experience preferred
- Strong attention to detail and mathematical accuracy
- Proficient in pharmacy management software (e.g., QS1, Omnicell)
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work efficiently in fast-paced, high-pressure environments
- Basic knowledge of medical terminology and prescription abbreviations
- High school diploma or equivalent (Pharmacy Tech certification a plus)
