Responsibilities
- Dispense prescription medications accurately while maintaining strict adherence to HIPAA and pharmacy regulations
- Manage pharmaceutical inventory, including ordering, receiving, and conducting cycle counts
- Prepare sterile compounds and IV admixtures under pharmacist supervision
- Process insurance claims and maintain accurate patient records using pharmacy software
- Provide exceptional customer service by addressing patient inquiries and medication counseling
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to ensure optimal medication therapy outcomes
- Maintain compliance with TSBOP and DEA regulations
Qualifications
- Active Texas Pharmacy Technician license (PTCB or ExCPT certified)
- Minimum 2 years of pharmacy experience in retail or hospital setting
- Proficiency in pharmacy management software (e.g., QS/1, Omnicell)
- Strong attention to detail with ability to perform precise calculations
- Excellent communication skills for patient interactions and team collaboration
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, high-volume environment
- Basic knowledge of sterile compounding techniques
- High school diploma or equivalent; college degree preferred
