Responsibilities
- Accurately receive, process, and fill prescriptions according to legal and company standards.
- Verify patient information and insurance details to ensure proper billing and safety.
- Manage inventory levels, including receiving deliveries, stocking shelves, and performing monthly counts.
- Assist the pharmacist in compounding medications and preparing intravenous solutions when required.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe pharmacy environment at all times.
- Handle customer inquiries regarding prescription refills and medication questions with empathy and accuracy.
- Process returns and exchanges while adhering to strict regulatory compliance protocols.
Qualifications
- Certification as a Pharmacy Technician (PTCB or ExCPT) required.
- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
- Strong attention to detail and excellent mathematical skills.
- Ability to communicate effectively with patients, pharmacists, and medical staff.
- Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and handle high volumes of prescriptions.
- Familiarity with pharmacy management software (e.g., Rx30, StarScript) is a plus.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification preferred.
