Responsibilities
- Accurately receive, prepare, and dispense prescription medications according to legal and safety standards.
- Verify patient information, prescription details, and insurance coverage.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient profiles and medication histories.
- Manage inventory levels, including ordering, stocking, and counting medications.
- Assist customers with prescription inquiries and provide medication counseling where appropriate.
- Operate pharmacy computer systems and point-of-sale equipment efficiently.
- Adhere to all state and federal regulations regarding controlled substances and patient privacy (HIPAA).
Qualifications
- Current and active Pharmacy Technician Certification (CPhT) required.
- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
- Previous experience in a retail or hospital pharmacy setting preferred.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with pharmacists and other healthcare staff.
- Basic computer literacy and ability to learn new software quickly.
