Responsibilities
- Prepare and package prescription medications accurately and efficiently, adhering to strict safety protocols.
- Verify patient information, insurance details, and medication orders against prescriptions to ensure accuracy.
- Manage inventory levels, perform regular stock counts, and order pharmaceutical supplies to prevent shortages.
- Assist the Pharmacist with compounding, sterile preparation, and specialized medication tasks.
- Provide exceptional customer service to patients, answering questions regarding dosage and usage.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe workspace in strict compliance with OSHA and HIPAA regulations.
- Document all transactions and interactions within the pharmacy management system accurately.
Qualifications
- Current Certification as a Pharmacy Technician (PCTB, ExCPT, or CPhT) is required.
- High School Diploma or GED is mandatory.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to maintain accuracy under pressure.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills for interacting with patients and staff.
- Ability to lift 50 lbs and stand for extended periods during shifts.
- Basic computer proficiency and experience with pharmacy software systems.
