Responsibilities
- Verify prescription orders for accuracy, completeness, and appropriateness.
- Prepare and package medications for dispensing to patients.
- Manage inventory levels and assist with procurement of pharmaceutical supplies.
- Assist the supervising pharmacist with clinical tasks and patient counseling.
- Process insurance claims, handle cash transactions, and manage payment collections.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe pharmacy environment compliant with HIPAA regulations.
Qualifications
- Current and valid Pharmacy Technician Certification (CPhT) or registration with the state board.
- High school diploma or GED equivalent; graduation from an accredited pharmacy technician program is preferred.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 25 lbs as needed.
- Proficiency with pharmacy management software (e.g., Rx30, Cerner) is a plus.
