Responsibilities
- Prepare and package prescription medications accurately and efficiently.
- Verify patient information and prescription details against doctor's orders.
- Manage inventory levels, including receiving, stocking, and ordering pharmaceutical supplies.
- Provide excellent customer service to patients, answering questions regarding medications and insurance.
- Assist in the preparation of sterile intravenous (IV) medications under pharmacist supervision.
- Ensure compliance with all federal and state laws, including HIPAA and DEA regulations.
- Collaborate with the pharmacy team to maintain a clean, safe, and organized workspace.
Qualifications
- Current Pharmacy Technician certification (PTCB or ExCPT) required.
- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
- Strong attention to detail and excellent mathematical skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks.
- Basic computer proficiency and experience with pharmacy management software.
- Valid California Pharmacy Technician license (if applicable by state law).
- Flexibility to work varying shifts including evenings and weekends.
