Responsibilities
- Accurately dispense prescription medications and verify patient information
- Manage inventory control, ordering, and stock rotation of pharmaceutical products
- Process insurance claims and handle third-party billing efficiently
- Provide exceptional customer service and medication counseling to patients
- Maintain compliance with federal/state pharmacy regulations and HIPAA guidelines
- Collaborate with pharmacists on prescription verification and compounding tasks
- Utilize pharmacy software (e.g., QS/1, Omnicell) for prescription processing
Qualifications
- Active Pharmacy Technician certification (PTCB or ExCPT)
- Texas State Board of Pharmacy registration in good standing
- Minimum 1 year experience in retail or hospital pharmacy setting
- Proficiency in pharmacy management systems and inventory software
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in medication handling
- Excellent communication skills and customer service orientation
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Basic knowledge of sterile compounding procedures preferred
