Your Key Responsibilities
As a Pharmacy Technician, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safe and efficient distribution of medication. Your duties will include:
- Accurately receiving and verifying prescription orders from physicians, patients, and insurance providers.
- Preparing and packaging medications under the direct supervision of a licensed Pharmacist.
- Managing inventory levels, including ordering, stocking, and organizing pharmaceutical supplies.
- Providing exceptional customer service by answering questions regarding medications, refill requests, and insurance coverage.
- Assisting with the management of the drive-thru window and front counter operations.
- Ensuring strict adherence to state and federal regulations, HIPAA privacy policies, and safety standards.
Qualifications & Requirements
To be successful in this role, you must meet the following criteria:
- Current, active PTCB (Pharmacy Technician Certification Board) or ExCPT certification required.
- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in a retail or hospital pharmacy setting preferred.
- Strong knowledge of pharmaceutical terminology, drug interactions, and dosage forms.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 25 lbs.
- Proficiency with pharmacy management software (e.g., McKesson, Cerner, or similar).
