Responsibilities
- Prepare and dispense medications accurately according to physician orders and safety protocols.
- Verify prescription information for correctness and completeness before dispensing.
- Manage inventory by receiving, stocking, and organizing pharmaceutical supplies efficiently.
- Assist patients with medication inquiries and provide basic pharmaceutical counseling.
- Maintain accurate records of prescriptions, inventory, and patient profiles in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Collaborate with the Pharmacy Manager to ensure workflow efficiency and compliance with state and federal laws.
- Handle special orders and compounding tasks as directed.
Qualifications
- Certification: Current PTCB or ExCPT certification is required.
- Experience: Minimum of 1 year of experience as a Pharmacy Technician preferred.
- Attention to Detail: Strong ability to focus on accuracy and follow complex instructions.
- Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Computer Proficiency: Familiarity with pharmacy dispensing software and electronic health records.
- Regulatory Knowledge: Understanding of HIPAA, DEA, and state pharmacy regulations.
- Flexibility: Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.
