Responsibilities
- Prepare and package prescription medications for patients with a high degree of accuracy and efficiency.
- Assist pharmacists in the dispensing process, including interpreting prescriptions and verifying dosages.
- Manage inventory levels, including receiving deliveries, stocking shelves, and conducting monthly stock counts.
- Verify patient insurance coverage and process transactions at the point of sale.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe pharmacy environment in compliance with all federal and state regulations.
- Handle customer inquiries professionally and provide medication counseling when directed by a pharmacist.
Qualifications
- Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) or eligibility to sit for the certification exam (PTCB/ExCPT).
- Current, active state licensure as a Pharmacy Technician in the District of Columbia.
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to perform repetitive tasks accurately.
- Excellent customer service skills and the ability to communicate effectively with patients and colleagues.
- Basic computer proficiency and experience with pharmacy management software systems.
