Responsibilities
- Dispense Medications: Accurately prepare and package prescription medications for patients while adhering to safety protocols and state regulations.
- Inventory Management: Monitor stock levels, receive and verify incoming shipments, and restock shelves to ensure product availability.
- Customer Service: Interact with patients to answer questions regarding prescriptions, insurance, and general pharmacy inquiries.
- Insurance Verification: Verify patient insurance coverage and process billing accurately to minimize errors.
- Record Keeping: Maintain precise patient records and medication profiles in the pharmacy management system.
- Compounding Support: Assist pharmacists in the preparation of sterile and non-sterile compounds as required.
Qualifications
- Certification: Active certification as a Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) or Pharmacy Technician Trainee (PTT) required.
- Licensure: Current, unencumbered license to practice as a Pharmacy Technician in the State of Tennessee.
- Education: High school diploma or GED equivalent required.
- Attention to Detail: Exceptional ability to focus on details to ensure accuracy in medication dispensing and paperwork.
- Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills with a patient-first attitude.
- Computer Skills: Proficiency with pharmacy software systems and basic computer operations.
- Physical Demands: Ability to stand for extended periods and lift boxes up to 25 lbs.
