Responsibilities
- Assist Pharmacists: Prepare and package prescriptions accurately and efficiently under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist.
- Inventory Management: Monitor stock levels, order pharmaceutical supplies, and manage inventory control systems.
- Customer Service: Interact with patients to answer questions about medications, process insurance claims, and provide excellent service.
- Medication Verification: Verify patient information, medication orders, and dosage calculations to ensure patient safety.
- Record Keeping: Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records and pharmacy logs in compliance with state and federal regulations.
- Compounding: Assist in the preparation of sterile and non-sterile compounds as needed.
Qualifications
- Certification: Current Pharmacy Technician Certification (CPhT) or willingness to obtain certification within 6 months.
- Experience: Previous experience in a retail or hospital pharmacy setting is preferred but not required for immediate hires.
- Attention to Detail: Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy in dispensing medications.
- Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Regulatory Knowledge: Familiarity with HIPAA and state pharmacy laws.
- Computer Skills: Proficiency with pharmacy management software (e.g., Rx30, Cerner, McKesson).
