Responsibilities
- Accurately receive, verify, and dispense prescriptions under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist.
- Prepare and package medications, including counting, pouring, and labeling, while adhering to strict safety protocols.
- Manage inventory levels, including stocking shelves, conducting monthly audits, and processing orders.
- Verify patient insurance information and process transactions at the point of sale.
- Provide excellent customer service by answering questions regarding medication usage, side effects, and refill policies.
- Assist in the maintenance of a clean, organized, and sanitary pharmacy environment.
Qualifications
- Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) certification preferred.
- High School Diploma or GED required; completion of an accredited pharmacy technician program is a plus.
- Strong knowledge of pharmacy terminology, drug interactions, and state pharmacy laws.
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency with pharmacy computer systems and electronic health records (EHR).
- Valid Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 25 lbs.
