Responsibilities
- Accurately receive, process, and fill prescriptions for patients according to state and federal regulations.
- Verify patient information, including allergies, drug interactions, and insurance coverage.
- Prepare and package medications, ensuring proper labeling and safety protocols.
- Manage inventory levels, including ordering supplies and monitoring expiration dates.
- Collaborate with the pharmacy team to resolve any discrepancies or medication-related inquiries.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment to ensure compliance with health and safety standards.
Qualifications
- Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) or ExCPT certification required.
- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
- Previous experience in a retail or hospital pharmacy setting preferred.
- Strong knowledge of pharmaceutical terminology and medication names.
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
- Valid Indiana pharmacy technician license.
- Basic computer proficiency and ability to use pharmacy management software.
