Responsibilities
- Process Prescriptions: Accurately prepare and package prescription medications under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist.
- Inventory Management: Monitor stock levels, order supplies, and manage pharmacy inventory to ensure medications are always available.
- Customer Service: Greet patients, answer inquiries regarding insurance and medications, and process payments efficiently.
- Regulatory Compliance: Adhere to all state and federal laws, including HIPAA and DEA regulations, to maintain patient privacy and safety.
- Quality Control: Perform routine checks to ensure medication labeling is correct and prescriptions are free of errors.
- Administrative Support: Maintain accurate records of prescription data and patient profiles.
Qualifications
- Certification: Must hold a valid Pharmacy Technician Certification (PTCB or ExCPT).
- Education: High school diploma or GED equivalent required.
- Experience: Previous experience in a retail or hospital pharmacy setting is preferred but not always required.
- Skills: Strong knowledge of pharmaceutical terminology, dosage forms, and medication interactions.
- Attributes: Exceptional attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
- License: Current Arizona Pharmacy Technician license.
