Responsibilities
- Verify and Process Prescriptions: Accurately check prescriptions for dosage, drug interactions, and patient allergies before dispensing.
- Patient Assistance: Interact with patients to answer questions regarding medications and provide superior customer service.
- Inventory Management: Monitor stock levels, order pharmaceutical supplies, and maintain a clean, organized pharmacy environment.
- Insurance Verification: Process insurance claims and verify patient coverage to minimize out-of-pocket expenses.
- Compliance: Adhere strictly to HIPAA regulations, state pharmacy laws, and company safety protocols.
Qualifications
- Certification: PTCB or ExCPT certification required; NYS registration preferred.
- Education: High school diploma or GED is mandatory.
- Experience: Previous experience as a pharmacy technician in a retail or hospital setting is highly desirable.
- Skills: Strong attention to detail and excellent mathematical skills.
- Communication: Ability to communicate effectively with patients, healthcare providers, and team members.
