Responsibilities
- Prepare and package prescribed medications following strict safety and accuracy protocols.
- Verify prescription orders for accuracy and completeness before dispensing.
- Manage inventory levels, including receiving shipments and performing cycle counts.
- Assist pharmacists with compounding and medication therapy management tasks.
- Provide exceptional customer service to patients by answering questions regarding medications and insurance coverage.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary pharmacy environment.
- Process insurance claims and handle copay transactions efficiently.
Qualifications
- Active Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) or Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) certification.
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in a retail or hospital pharmacy setting preferred.
- Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills.
- Ability to communicate effectively with patients, staff, and physicians.
- Basic computer proficiency and familiarity with pharmacy management software (e.g., McKesson, Cerner).
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 25 lbs.
