Responsibilities
- Prescription Processing: Accurately receive, prepare, and dispense prescriptions under the direct supervision of a licensed pharmacist.
- Inventory Control: Monitor stock levels, manage pharmacy inventory, and place orders for pharmaceutical supplies to ensure stock availability.
- Insurance Verification: Verify patient insurance benefits and process claims accurately to minimize billing errors.
- Customer Service: Interact professionally with patients to answer questions about medications, provide counseling, and resolve inquiries.
- Regulatory Compliance: Adhere to all state and federal regulations, including HIPAA, OSHA standards, and pharmacy board guidelines.
- Medication Preparation: Assist in the preparation of sterile products and compounding medications as required.
Qualifications
- Certification: Must hold a current PTCB or ExCPT certification.
- Licensure: Valid Kentucky Pharmacy Technician license required.
- Education: High school diploma or GED; completion of an accredited Pharmacy Technician training program is preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in a retail or hospital pharmacy setting.
- Skills: Strong proficiency with pharmacy management software and computer systems.
- Attributes: Exceptional attention to detail, strong communication skills, and the ability to work well under pressure.
