Responsibilities
- Medication Preparation: Accurately prepare and package prescription medications, ensuring all labeling and dosage instructions are correct.
- Inventory Management: Monitor stock levels, place orders for pharmaceutical supplies, and manage the pharmacy's inventory system efficiently.
- Customer Service: Interact professionally with patients and healthcare providers, answering questions regarding prescriptions and medication usage.
- Regulatory Compliance: Adhere to all state and federal pharmacy laws, HIPAA regulations, and company policies regarding patient confidentiality.
- Assistance: Assist the licensed pharmacist with compounding, filling prescriptions, and managing the drive-thru window operations.
- Data Entry: Maintain accurate patient records and prescription histories within the pharmacy management software.
Qualifications
- Certification: Current and active Pharmacy Technician license in the state of Florida.
- Education: High School Diploma or GED required; completion of an accredited pharmacy technician program is preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in a retail or hospital pharmacy setting is highly desirable.
- Skills: Strong knowledge of pharmaceutical terminology, dosage forms, and medication interactions.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a focus on patient education.
- Technology: Proficiency with computer systems and pharmacy dispensing software.
- Attention to Detail: Ability to perform repetitive tasks with high accuracy under time constraints.
