Responsibilities
- Dispense Medications: Prepare and package prescription medications accurately and efficiently under the direct supervision of a licensed pharmacist.
- Verify Orders: Verify patient information, insurance details, and physician orders to ensure compliance with state and federal laws.
- Inventory Management: Monitor stock levels, check expiration dates, and restock shelves to ensure the pharmacy is always fully equipped.
- Customer Service: Provide exceptional service to patients, answering inquiries regarding prescriptions, insurance, and medication interactions.
- Administrative Tasks: Process returns, manage prescription transfers, and maintain accurate digital records in pharmacy software.
- Cleanliness & Safety: Maintain a clean, organized, and hygienic pharmacy environment in strict adherence to safety protocols.
Qualifications
- Certification: Current PTCB or ExCPT certification is required.
- Education: High School Diploma or GED is mandatory.
- Experience: Previous experience as a pharmacy technician (1-2 years preferred) in a retail or hospital setting.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency with pharmacy management systems (e.g., Rx30, Cerner, or similar).
- Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interact professionally with patients and staff.
- Physical Requirements: Ability to stand for long periods, lift up to 25 lbs, and perform repetitive tasks with precision.
