Responsibilities
- Accurately prepare and fill prescriptions according to state and federal regulations.
- Verify patient information, including allergies and current medications, to ensure safety.
- Process insurance claims and handle financial transactions efficiently.
- Maintain accurate inventory records and ensure proper storage of pharmaceuticals.
- Assist customers with medication questions and provide outstanding customer service.
- Collaborate with pharmacists to review prescriptions for accuracy and completeness.
- Follow all HIPAA guidelines and maintain strict confidentiality of patient records.
Qualifications
- Certification as a Pharmacy Technician (PTCB or ExCPT) preferred.
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Basic computer literacy and experience with pharmacy software systems.
- Ability to lift up to 25 lbs and stand for extended periods.
