Responsibilities
- Specimen Collection: Perform venipunctures and capillary draws with precision and minimal patient discomfort.
- Patient Care: Interact professionally with patients, explaining procedures and alleviating anxiety.
- Specimen Handling: Properly label, process, and transport blood samples to the lab for analysis.
- Equipment Maintenance: Maintain and sterilize phlebotomy equipment according to safety standards.
- Record Keeping: Accurately document patient history and collection details in electronic health records (EHR).
Qualifications
- Certification: Must hold a valid Phlebotomy Technician (CPT) certification.
- License: Active license to practice in the District of Columbia.
- Experience: 1-2 years of clinical experience preferred, but new graduates are encouraged to apply.
