Responsibilities
- Perform venipuncture and capillary blood draws with precision and minimal patient discomfort
- Process, label, and transport specimens to laboratory while maintaining chain-of-custody protocols
- Verify patient identification and maintain accurate electronic health records
- Prepare phlebotomy trays and equipment for daily procedures
- Provide patient education on pre-test preparation procedures
- Collaborate with nursing staff and laboratory personnel for seamless workflow
- Adhere to OSHA safety standards and HIPAA compliance regulations
Qualifications
- Current Phlebotomy Technician certification (ASCP, NCCT, or equivalent)
- Minimum 1 year of clinical phlebotomy experience
- Valid CPR certification or willingness to obtain within 30 days
- Proficiency in venipuncture techniques for diverse patient populations
- Strong attention to detail and specimen handling accuracy
- Exceptional communication skills for patient interaction
