Responsibilities
- Perform venipuncture and capillary blood draws across diverse patient populations
- Process and label specimens with meticulous attention to detail
- Operate laboratory equipment including centrifuges and analyzers
- Maintain sterile work environments and adhere to HIPAA protocols
- Verify patient identity and test requisitions before procedures
- Document all activities in electronic health records (EHR)
- Collaborate with nurses and lab staff for seamless patient flow
Qualifications
- Current Phlebotomy Technician certification (ASCP, NHA, or equivalent)
- Minimum 1 year clinical experience in phlebotomy
- Valid BLS/CPR certification
- Proficiency in EHR systems and lab software
- Excellent venipuncture skills for all age groups
- Strong communication and interpersonal abilities
- Ability to work efficiently in high-volume settings
- Texas state phlebotomy license (if applicable)
