Responsibilities
- Perform venipuncture, capillary, and microcollection procedures accurately and efficiently
- Process and label specimens according to strict laboratory protocols
- Maintain sterile equipment and proper infection control measures
- Verify patient identities and ensure proper documentation
- Utilize LIS systems for specimen tracking and result reporting
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to ensure quality patient care
- Participate in continuous quality improvement initiatives
Qualifications
- Current Phlebotomy Technician certification (ASCP, NHA, or equivalent)
- Minimum 1 year clinical phlebotomy experience
- Strong knowledge of venipuncture techniques and specimen handling
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Basic computer proficiency with medical software
- Valid CPR certification
- New Mexico phlebotomy license (if applicable)
