Responsibilities
- Perform accurate venipuncture and capillary blood collections following OSHA/JCAHO standards
- Process and label specimens with meticulous attention to detail
- Maintain sterile collection environments and equipment calibration
- Provide exceptional patient care with comfort-focused techniques
- Document all procedures in electronic health records systems
- Collaborate with laboratory staff for specimen processing
- Train new staff on phlebotomy protocols and best practices
Qualifications
- Current Phlebotomy Technician certification (ASCP, AMT, or NCCT)
- Minimum 1 year clinical experience in phlebotomy
- Strong knowledge of HIPAA compliance and patient confidentiality
- CPR/BLS certification required
- Proficiency in LIS and specimen tracking systems
- Ability to work efficiently in high-volume settings
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Valid Hawaii state healthcare worker license
