Responsibilities
- Perform venipuncture and capillary blood collections with precision and patient comfort
- Process, label, and transport specimens according to CLIA and HIPAA standards
- Verify patient identities and maintain accurate electronic health records
- Prepare blood products for transfusion and assist with specimen processing
- Calibrate and maintain phlebotomy equipment and inventory
- Provide patient education on procedures and ensure sterile techniques
- Collaborate with lab teams and healthcare providers for seamless workflow
Qualifications
- Current Phlebotomy Technician certification (ASCP, NHA, or equivalent)
- Minimum 1 year clinical phlebotomy experience
- BLS/CPR certification required
- Proficiency in electronic medical records and LIS systems
- Exceptional interpersonal skills for diverse patient populations
- Ability to work efficiently in fast-paced medical environments
- Knowledge of OSHA safety protocols and infection control
